Housatonic Valley and surrounding areas in an environmentally friendly
manner, while enjoying the camaraderie of those with similar interests.
As an active member of our club, you will have the opportunity to
participate in the following:
- Learning together
- Safety courses
- Becoming a steward of the environment
- Promoting a "leave no trace" philosophy
- Volunteer programs
Who We Are
We're the folks you see navigating kayaks, canoes and other human-powered craft through these waterways.
Some of us have years of experience and others are just starting out.
Some are in peak physical condition and others have a healthy respect for the river and hope to
contribute to its stewardship.
Our club formed in 2001 at New Milford Paddle Days when a group of paddling enthusiasts signed a mailing list.
Since then we've continued to grow into a network of recreational, whitewater, canoeing and sea kayaking paddlers of all ages.

Membership is Free!
It costs nothing to join, and there are no monthly dues! All you need is an interest in paddling. Whether you're a beginner, novice or
advanced paddler, there's plenty of room for you.
Paddlers at all HVPC events are required to fill out and sign a
Release of Liability form.

Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month June through December,
